6:07 PM CST - Happy Saturday! This is the last day of 2022. Who is ready to start 2023? I am. I'm looking forward to all good things to come, and keeping my mind strong for any pitfalls. Tonight my main focus for blogging is going to be hitting up Wikipedia for some more article curation for my Wikipedia Random Articles blog series. Everyone have a good night, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
- - - Post Footnote: LIIINKZ.com Site Notices are intended to keep you up to date on any news pertaining to the website, or to just allow me a time to check in on the blog to say hi and let my followers know I'm around, what I might be working on, or that I may just be taking a break from "normal" blogging routine. Site Notices 0001 For Friday, December 30th, 2022
This is a LIIINKZ.com check in and Site Notice 0001 for Friday, December 30th, 2022, from David, your blog host, and content curator.
10:55 PM CST - The weekend is here. That means Friday is my Monday, and I'm at the facility. It's a calm, sweet, quiet night as it most often is. I'm not feeling motivated to do a lot of heavy work on my blog tonight. So I'm not going to. I am thinking about just camping out at my laptop between my on-the-clock-work, and diving into Wikipedia to explore some random articles (one of my favorite things to do) to pass the time throughout my shift. I might even make a list of the articles I find to start a new blog series. I'm planning to start doing that anyway at some point. I will not be posting any NSFW content tonight, like I did all last weekend. I hope everyone is having a great start to your weekend this Friday night, and a big shoutout to all other night-owl bloggers out there.

NSFW Gay Interest Blogs On Newtumbl
These are the blogs I follow on Newtumbl. These blogs are NSFW intended as men4men content. There are over 300 blog links here in this blogroll. Newtumbl is very similar to Tumblr. It gained popularity after the great NSFW content purge Tumblr did in December 2018. If you are familiar with Newtumble, then you already know that you have to go into your settings on Newtumbl to allow viewing of NSFW content. For those new to Newtumbl, go into your settings after you make an account there to set your preferences for viewing NSFW content, otherwise you will not be able to view the blogs listed below.

New Important Links Widget Added To Site
I have added a new "Important Links" widget in the footer section of liiinkz.com where I will be adding links that bear some importance to anticipated viewer interest, as well as my own interest.
This widget is not intended to be a permanent place for any links that I may place in the list. If I used it that way, it would over time grow into a miles long list, and that would not be great for navigation around my website. So that list will be used for rotation purposes.
I have discovered that the link list widgets Blogger offers make a very quick and convenient way to add links to a blog without having to go edit a blog post or a page.
My plan for this widget is to use it as a hoarding place for quickly sharing links when I'm surfing the internet and find something important to share, and that I feel is important enough to link to openly in that section of the website.
Then, as time permits, I will move those links to appropriate link pages or blog posts where they can be placed in organized listings. I'm excited to see how, over time, this new addition to Web Wide Zine at Liiinkz.com will help with my curation process in building resources.

Starting My Gay Blogs On Blogger Blogroll
For the last week since I got back on blogger, I have been exploring around to find some gay interest blogs to follow. I want to create a blogroll widget, but I'm not ready to do that yet as I feel I haven't followed enough to make a list that would be worth the time right now. What I can do however is share this post with links to the blogs I've followed so far.
And here is my list...

Luckystyle LED Floor Lamp With Remote Control Purchased For My Crafting
This morning as I was working on a crochet project in my living room, while sitting on my couch, I found myself with a lighting delimma I didn't know I had. I do not have a good lighting situation around the couch in my living room for when I want to sit down in that area to do some crocheting or knitting. How I did not know this, is beyond me. I do have lighting in the room when I want to turn a light on. I even have one of those floor lamps that has 5 arms on it with multi-color light shades that is plugged into a timer that automatically comes on in the evenings, and goes off in the mornings.

Perler Beads Work In Progress 001
This is the first post in my new Perler beads Work In Progress blog series. In this series I'll be sharing the work I'm doing with Perler Beads. If you aren't familiar with Perler beads, just Google it. Basically they are plastic beads that you place on a pegboard, and then you run an iron over them to fuse them in place. You can make many cool things with these beads. A lot of people use them to make 8-bit style sprites and ornaments.
Lenovo Has Joined The Fight - Yoga Paper Unboxing
From Good e-Reader channel on YouTube is this unboxing video of the new Lenovo Yoga Paper e-ink writing tablet. The gadgets industry is finally coming out with some competitive devices and I'm keeping my eyes open. I currently own a Remarkable 2, and it can be enjoyable to use, but I hate that it doesn't have a backlit screen. That's why I have my eyes on the new Kindle Scribe ebook writer and note taking tablet. But now there is this device. I don't know if this device has a backlit screen or not yet. I don't remember if the guy in the video said whether it does or not. So I will have to wait until a more in-depth review is posted. He did say that the device was a little slow, but that it has a good writing experience. See the video for yourself below.
Hommie Publishing
This website is Hommie Publishing. It is an online store that caters to gay vintage porn collectors. The only thing I really know about it as of this post is that they offer some vintage porn magazines in pdf format for just 50 cents each. I don't know if this may be a holiday sale since I'm discovering this 2 days after Christmas.
I discovered Hommi Publishing through this blog post on Blogger - https://wonderlandburlesque.blogspot.com/2022/12/acquired-tastes-xliii-gay-pulp-fiction_0208412676.html

Encyclopedia of Society and Culture in the Ancient World By Peter I. Bogucki
Book description: (I could not find a description, so I give this review I found) This work “provides an overview of the means by which people lived in the past” and covers prehistory through the beginning of the Christian era. Sixty-nine broad topics, from “Adornment” to “Writing,” are covered in sections broken down by region. Each section has a brief introduction. Articles are all signed. The work is very ambitious, and some essays are cursory even for a general survey. In the article on “Warfare,” the Celts and Germans get three double-column pages, where all of Asia and the Pacific, including the great military powers of India and China, get just over four pages. The work’s attempt to include all areas of human settlement is its greatest weakness, as the historical evidence for many regions is so scanty. There are errors that should never have seen print. In the section on “Food and Diet: Africa,” the potato is listed as a prehistoric African food; however, the potato is native to the Americas and would probably not have arrived in Africa before it was introduced in Europe, around 1700. There are also grammatical and spelling errors that should have been corrected. For example, at one point, Babylonian astronomical texts are called astronomical “dairies,” which probably should have been diaries. The work has redeeming features, including selections from primary source documents in translation in many sections. At the end of each section are liberal see also references and suggestions for further reading, sometimes including URLs of useful Web sites. There are good maps, black-and-white photographs that should copy well, a glossary, time lines, and an index at the end of the fourth volume. Recommended for larger public libraries or for school libraries that need a survey encyclopedia to support world history classes. --Kathleen Stipek

Project Managers At Work By Bruce Harpham
Book description: Read 25 in-depth, candid interviews with notable project managers. Discover how project managers work, what they do, how they adapt and make decisions, how they inspire and motivate others, what career lessons and advice they can share, and how they landed their current jobs either as project managers or in more senior positions thanks to their success as project managers. Most of the project managers featured in this book--together with a selection of program managers, executives, entrepreneurs, and CEOs with project management backgrounds and responsibilities--work in the technology sector, but many work in other industries, including banking and financial services, consulting, aerospace, energy, and transportation.
Bruce Harpham, PMP--a project management career advisor and journalist--has chosen interviewees who range across the spectrum of company size and maturity and of individual career stages--from CEOs who were formerly project managers (such as Mavenlink's Ray Grainger); to founders of project management consulting firms (such as Tramore's Tom Atkins); to project managers at the world's leading tech giants (such as IBM's Bob Tarne, Google's Michael Lubrano, Apple's Seth J. Gillespie, and Cisco's Hassan Osman), in the space industry (such as NASA's David Woerner, Canadian Space Agency's Isabelle Tremblay and EUMETSAT's Hilary Wilson), in financial services (such as TD Bank's Ilana Sprongl and Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System's Annette Lyjak), and at transportation companies (such as Amtrak's Sarina Arcari).

I Discriminate Certain Types Of Gay People And I Am Not Ashamed
There are just certain types of people that weird me the fuck out. This will probably not be one of my most popular posts concerning the gay community, and that's fine. We're all entitled to our opinions, and we are under no obligation whatsoever under the Constitution of the United States to "blend in" with some types of people that do not make us comfortable.
Concerning the meme I've posted in this blog post: I saw this meme earlier this morning, or maybe it was sometime last night, and I think these things need to be said in the gay community more often by the masculine side. I know some people in the gay community are offended by the word "masculine", and if that word offends you, fuck you. There really is no other word to describe the men in the gay community who don't dress and act like clowns. Pay attention to the "Gay People I Respect" part of the meme. That's who I am, and who I have respect for.
Encyclopedia of Painting - Painters and Painting of the World From Prehistoric Times to the Present Day by Bernard S. Myers
New to my ebooks collection is Encyclopedia of Painting. Painters and Painting of the World From Prehistoric Times to the Present Day by Bernard S. Myers
Book description: This large book is probably the most comprehensive one-volume encyclopedia of the art of painting ever published in the English language. In the Fourth Revised Edition hundreds of entries from the decade of the '70s have been added and up-dated. Included are such notable twentieth century painters as Blake, Corneille, Dine, Estes, Hockney, Kline, Jorn, Rauschenberg, Schiele, Stella, Still, Tápies, Tworkov, Vasarely, Vedova and Warhol, to name just a few.
In addition to biographies of the great painters of all time, the book includes lengthy sections on Chinese, Japanese, Persian and Indian painting, and informative articles on African art, Etruscan art, Egyptian art, cave painting, and numerous other categories covering all periods from prehistoric time to present day. There are also lucid explanations of the various movements in painting: Impressionism, Non-objective Art, Surrealism, Cubism, Minimal Art, Photo-Realisitm, Op Art, Pop Art, Action Painting, Conceptual Art, and so on. And there are entries about most of the world's finest art museums.
The illustrations have been selected with the greatest care and discrimination, gathered from all parts of the world- from places as remote as Korean and Teheran- and from hundreds of institutions and private collections as well. In many instances, agencies of foreign governments helped to track down special pictures. Among the paintings reproduced here are countless famous and familiar ones, but many lesser-known through equally fine works have been included.
Nearly all the abundant illustrations have been placed on the same page as the text reference, enabling the reader to see the painting that is being discussed. These illustrations have been printed with special care to ensure the finest quality of reproduction and to help make the Encyclopedia of Painting a beautiful art book as well as an important reference work.
The editor and contributing associates to this volume have attempted to establish a just proportion between the past and the present, the purely factual and the essentially critical, the Orient and the Occident, the specifically biographical entry and the general descriptive entry or definition. Features of special interest to both the general public and the student if art include an extensive section on the Orient (China, Japan, India, and Persia), a thoroughgoing but selective section on art in the United States, and an equally inclusive coverage of the many European and other countries contributing to the art of our own times.

Quilts Around the World: The Story of Quilting from Alabama to Zimbabwe by Spike Gillespie
New to my ebooks collection is Quilts Around the World: The Story of Quilting from Alabama to Zimbabwe by Spike Gillespie, with contributions by Laurel Horton, Marsha MacDowell, Carolyn Mazloomi, Hollis Chatelain, Karen Musgrave, and Karey Bresenhan.
Book description: This essential book for all quilters and quilt collectors tells the fascinating story of quilting around the world, illuminated by the international quilt community’s top experts and more than 300 glorious color photographs. Covering Japan, China, Korea, and India; England, Ireland, France, and The Netherlands; Australia, Africa, Central America, North America, and beyond, Quilts Around the World explores both the diversity and common threads of quilting. Discover Aboriginal patchwork from Australia, intricate Rallis from the Middle East, Amish and Hawaiian quilts from the United States, Sashiko quilts from Japan, vivid Molas from Central America, and art quilts from every corner of the globe. Also included are twenty patchwork and applique patterns to use in your own quilt projects, inspired by designs from the world’s most striking quilts.
My Review: Books like this one are usually the type that I really don't read. I just collect to view the photos. There are some really nice quilts pictured in this book. It is a big book. As of this review I have only looked at the photos. I'm sure I would enjoy reading about the history and making of the quilts if I ever take the time to read this book.

To Post NSFW Content At Wide Web Zine Or Not
I had a little fight with myself about whether or not to post NSFW content here on my blog. I have decided that it will be fine to do that. I'm no prude when it comes to porn, or smut pictures, and I've grown tired of trying to keep SFW and NSFW content separated in all of my projects. I need to have this one project where I can post any content I like with no fear of repercussions.
I have decided to combine my Web Wide Zine and PromoRoll projects into this one website. PromoRoll promotes some NSFW gay interest content. So I guess this just became a gay blog lol.
I am working toward a goal of slimming down the number of websites I own and maintain. I want to get to a point where I only have my photo gallery, primary personal website, and this blog to maintain. I think it would be nice if I could get to a point that my weekly routine would consist of just adding 5 or 10 new photos to my photo gallery website each week, complete my Twitter scheduling for that website and the associated Twitter account, and then I could have the rest of the week to focus on my blogging. Then I could use my primary personal website for storing and distributing my ebooks.
In the last few years I have acquired way too many websites that I don't have time to maintain.
So on this website here at liiinkz.com I will be posting, sharing, and promoting a mix of SFW and NSFW content. And that's that. Anyone who has a personal problem with that just has a personal problem.

I'm Using Picture Window Theme On Blogger And I Love It!
I'm Using Picture Window Theme On Blogger And I Love It! - When I set up my blog at liiinkz.com this month in December 2022, there weren't a lot of blog templates available. There was one template however that stood out to me, and it is the Picture Window Theme. Today I realized why I love the theme so much. It's because it reminds me of the Kubrick theme that used to be very popular for Wordpress years ago. Kubrick was a two column theme that allowed for your main content to go in a wide column, while holding your blog widgets in a sidebar column. That's exactly what the Picture Window Blogger theme does, and it has the same or very similar bold header for your blog title and description. This theme is making me feel nostalgic for getting back into blogging.
Do Blogrings Still Exist?
I was curious to know if blogrings still exist in 2022. A little searching on Google and Reddit brought disappointment.
Do you remember blogrings back in the day. These were connected groups of blogs that could be navigated to and discovered through a link system that connected all of the blogs together. You would apply to join a ring, then your blog would be added into the ring, and you would have to put the blogring html code on your blog so that your site visitors could browse through the ring and discover new blogs.
Sadly, it seems that no one is supporting blogrings anymore, and I think that's a shame. There was a huge sense of community in the blogrings as I remember a long time ago. To face reality however, we are now living in an age where we can find content on social networks much faster.

Why I Built Wide Web Zine On Blogger And Not Wordpress.com
I needed a new website for my Wide Web Zine project. Normally I would have purchased a domain and set up a website on Wordpress.com... that was until they got greedy.
I have used the Wordpress.com blogging platform since 2014. Before that, I had several self-hosted Wordpress websites hosted by Powweb. The reason I moved from Powweb to Wordpress.com was because I found a lot of convenience in a service that provides a Wordpress blog instantly that you don't have to set up and maintain yourself, other than the media, posts, and pages that you publish on your website. I have had, and still have several .com websites and "free" blogs hosted there other than this website here on Blogger.

PIPDIG Blogger and Blogspot Knowledge Base
Not sure how up to date this resource for Blogger is, but considering how old Blogger is, and that their templates haven't been updated since 2017, this is probably a good resource for help with Blogger and using Blogspot blogs. I will update with more info about this if I find it useful in the future.

Integrate A Google Domain With A Blogger Blog For A Great Basic Blog Website
It is very easy, and cheap to set up a blog on blogger.com and connect it to a domain you purchase through Google Domains. This is a good way to set up a basic personal blog, and you don't have to pay for any web hosting since Blogger and Blogspot blogs are free. All you have to do is go to Blogger and set up your free blog the way you want it, then go to Google Domains to purchase your preferred domain, connect your domain to your blog on Blogger, and then just wait for the DNS migration of your domain to occur. DNS is what makes your .com connect and redirect to your blogger blog. Then you are off and running with a cheap domain connected to a free blog.
